For movement monitoring, TOM is attached to empty boxes, tunnels, but also ventilation shafts or for example cable ducts.
TOM detects movement thanks to built-in PIR sensors (= passive infrared sensor) and shoots a picture with infrared light to avoid scaring live animals.
In snap trap monitoring, TOM is placed on a tunnel or box with snap traps. As soon as an animal enters the tunnel/box, pictures are taken.
These are first taken with infrared light so as not to spook the animals. If a catch occurs, a picture is taken with white light to make it easier to determine the animal via the picture.
This allows you to evaluate not only the catch itself, but also the situation before it.
